The trilogy includes The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay and the high-energy, drama filled pages were hard to stop reading. Now that I've read the books, I'm really looking forward to the movie that premieres in March!!
Will you be doing any holiday reading?
I adore these books!! I'm reading the Song of Fire and Ice series (there is an HBO show called "Game of Thrones" based on this series) and it's really good!! It definitely isn't a quick read though - these books are LONG!
ReplyDeleteI *heart* the Hunger Games triology. My only mistake? I let my sister borrow the books, and she's currently out of the country! I want to re-read them!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you loved them! I also read them in a week, it's just so easy to get sucked in and not be able to put them down! Like Jenny, I let someone else borrow mine and I want to re-read them! Can't wait for the movie! I started a bookshelf page on my blog to keep a list of books I have read/am reading/intend to read, because it was getting difficult to remember if I have read something or not. But i haven't been too great at adding to it yet.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I was going to reply that's exactly what I've been reading! Not quick reads, but DEFINITELY page turners.
ReplyDeleteI just downloaded The Hunger Games on Kindle for a whopping $1.00 (had a coupon somehow) so your post has convinced me I need to actually sit down and read it now, especially if there's going to be a movie!
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I do this, but I read so few books because I spend so much time re-reading the exact same books over and over again. Currently re-reading? The Hunger Games. :)
ReplyDeletei've heard so much about these books--this latest enthusiasm may be the last push i need to finally read them!
ReplyDeleteI hope that little push works because you will enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteOoo, I may need to download these!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny because I kept talking about them while I was reading and my husband actually wants to borrow my kindle to read them. Other than school books and comic books I don't think I've seen him read a book in the 4+ years we've been together.
ReplyDeleteThat's smart! I've gotten a couple of other recommendations on good reads, but I'll need to dig them out of old posts so I can remember.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I have some books in my very small collection that I have re-read because I enjoyed them (or a movie was coming out and I wanted to remember everything).
ReplyDeleteI've heard such good things! These are next on my list. I want to at least read the first before the movie comes out. Hopefully before more previews come out, too.
ReplyDeleteI read Little Women every year over Christmas but I'm looking forward to reading The Hunger Games in the new year!
ReplyDeleteJust as the title says, I greatly enjoyed the first book in the trilogy, and was genuinely excited to keep on reading. However, as did, I started to get concerned. The first few chappters of Book 2 are spent on Katniss being split between Peeta and Gale. To be fair, I know that this aspect of the series was not aimed at me, but to not even set up the rest of the story within those critical few chapters was an immediete warning flag. I should have trusted my gut and saved myself the time.
