CatDog?

I think Gypsy may have a few extra cat traits in her.

She is a big fan of sleeping.  It seems like she's always napping.  This of course could be because she is getting up there in age.

She likes to groom herself, for a good amount of time.  It's even at the point that she stops licking her paws and just starts licking the couch.  Do other dogs do that?

She loves milk.  How did I find this out?  I made the mistake of not drinking all of the milk out of my cereal bowl and left it on the coffee table when I ran out for errands.  When I came back all of the milk was gone.

Please drop some food scraps

She likes to jump up on the couch and walk along the back.  She loves to nestle into a spot on the top cushion (which she then weighs down).

Catdog or not, I love little Gypsy and will never forget the day I picked her up from the animal shelter, almost 6 years ago.

Do your pets have any weird habits or traits?

  1. That sounds EXACTLY like Cullen! We always joke that he's part cat, part chihuahua. :)

  3. My 2 year old rat terrier is very much so a cat! She, like Gypsy, loves to walk along the back of the sofa & lay down. I'm pretty sure she knows it annoys me when she jumps off the back so she does it anyway. She also walks along the bottom of the back of the sofa, "scratching" her back as she goes, just like a cat! And if you hand is sitting there, minding it's own business, you'd better believe she'll wiggle her head under it for you to pet her.

I think she's part human, too.. She cries tears. Like, legitimate tears. And her teeth chatter when she's cold or nervous. And if you yell at her {for pooing inside- will that ever end?!} she'll yell back, in her own little language. It's too funny!

  4. I've never had a dog, but I used to have a cat that had dog-like traits! We would put him on a leash and he would walk around the driveway (before he'd get bored and lie down)!

  6. Chris' family's dog does the climb on the back of the couch thing, but I thought it was something she learned from the cat! lol

  7. My dogs like to lick the couch too - we're constantly discouraging that. And one of them (the largest at 50 pounds) likes to sleep on the back of the couch. Silly catdogs.

  8. So cute! Sky is turning into such a cat. He was never allowed on the couch until recently and now he curls up on it all the time and sleeps all the time. We have a cat too and they have taken over the couch.

  10. HA! I've heard of that before, but have never actually seen a cat on a leash.

  11. Gypsy is such a couch hog when she's up there, sometimes to the point that I just have to get up and sit elsewhere so she can spread out haha.

  12. that is so cute about the "missing" milk. and one of our pugs really loves to jump up on the back of the couch as well--have to fluff those pillows every once in a while!
