Noticing Wedding Details

Over the weekend I attended the wedding of a friend and after getting home I noticed that I took more pictures of details then I did of people.  It's weird how planning a wedding and working on details for so long will do that to ya.

The ceremony and reception were held at the Trinity River Audubon center a little south of Dallas.  The drive was a little crazy with the normal Friday traffic and yearly Dallas invasion of TX/OU weekend, but I made it with a couple of minutes to spare.

It was a beautiful, outdoor ceremony, incorporating Spanish customs like the presentation of 13 coins and Wedding Lasso.

On to the details!

Cake #2

The first cake had a mishap and the baker rushed another cake (which the bride said was almost exactly what they ordered) just in time for the reception.  That's a great vendor for you! (and happened to be the same cake vendor we used)

The wedding was so much fun, and it's so awesome to know what someone is planning and see it all come together!

After you were married, did you tend to notice wedding details more as a guest?

  1. I haven't been to a wedding since we got married, but I have a feeling I would pay a lot closer attention to the details than I used to! That wedding venue is gorgeous!

  2. I definitely pay more attention to details now than I did before! This was cool of you to take detail shots. I wish someone had done that for our wedding, since I hardly got any good pictures of the details I worked on for over a year.

  3. I have to admit, it came in handy for my friend's wedding where I was a bridesmaid. Her photographer missed most of her details, so she and her was very thankful to see the pictures I posted on FB.

  4. Definitely! Not only the details, but wedding etiquette too — I cringe when I think about all the faux-pas stuff I used to do (like come along as a last-minute date)!

  5. haha I notice the same thing too ever since starting to plan! But I think brides like having someone really notice the details that you worked so hard on!

  7. Oh my gosh, yes! I really thought about that during the invitations when I remembered back to the time right out of college that I just didn't bother to send the RSVPs back in and my friends had to follow up with me.
